Malcolm X. Johnson is a Detroit native and owner of New Harlem Renaissance Productions, L.L.C. His first film, “The 1st Time I Committed Suicide,” which he wrote & directed, was awarded “Best Short Film” & “Emerging Filmmaker” at the Trinity Film Coalition’s 5th Annual Film Festival in Detroit, MI.
He is also the published author of 4 collections of poetry: Ghetto Verse 1:19: The Written Confessions of My Soul Road to (K)nowhere Forgotten Scripture: The Lost Teachings of Love & Black Rose
